It was on Saturday, January 26th, 2014 that one of our mentors, Marcelo C. Alvarez had the opportunity to film an original concept for a 30 second commercial that he wrote and directed. It was for the Siegmeth Team at Keller Williams Realty of the San Fernando Valley. His comedic concept was based on what the competition offers its clients compared to realtors Bob Siegmeth and David Hernandez of the Siegmeth Team http://www.siegmethteam1.com/
He had also had the opportunity to work with former Spring 2013 workshop students from Santa Monica College http://www.smc.edu/AcademicPrograms/Communication/Pages/Film-Studies.aspx + Inner-City Filmmakers http://www.innercityfilmmakers.com/ and Woodbury University http://woodbury.edu/mcd
The commercial was shot on location at the Keller Williams office in Porter Ranch using a Sony PMW-F3 Digital Motion Picture Camera http://pro.sony.com/bbsc/ssr/show-highend/resource.solutions.bbsccms-assets-show-highend-pmwf3.shtml
Christian Valle worked as the Camera AC along side the Santa Monica GNE. A team of six students from Santa Monica College who cleverly formed a great group of talented and eager film students to work as Grip and Electric. The two members who helped on set were Jihan Casquejo and Robert Redgrave. In addition, Antonio Rodriguez served as a 2nd AD, Mayra Hernandez worked as the Set Dresser and Jonathan Shnoravorian as the Set PA.
Marcelo C Alvarez said, “It’s awesome being around these young filmmakers, they are so full of creativity and always have a smile on their face. They were all instrumental in creating a fun and positive filming experience. Our client had no idea that they were relatively new to the industry which shows that each school has done an incredible job in teaching them what’s needed and how to work on set.”
The commercial will be distributed via Screen Vision http://www.screenvision.com/ in the North Region of the San Fernando Valley via the cinema screens. Cinema Spots start at the feature film’s published show time in a lights-down environment ensuring advertisers’ brands are seen by an attentive audience. All this meaning no fast forwarding through our work and the best part is getting to see it played back on the enormous movie screens. The commercial will also have a 60 second version for the internet.
