Marcelo C. Alvarez is a brilliant new face in the entertainment industry. In the past 2 years he has worked with some of the largest networks in television including, NBC, MTV and Univision. He has created original content for Los Angeles based production companies in television, web, mobile and video on demand distribution. His journey into the arts began at very young age, attending gifted arts magnet schools throughout his adolescence. It became very clear to those who knew him, that it would only be a matter of time for the world to discover his unique creative talents as a visual artist.
He spent 7 years working as a project manager for the prestigious Alegre Mackenzie Architecture firm based in Marina del Rey, California. It was there that he acquired the knowledge of how to effectively manage time, money and crews, on a host of multi-million dollar projects. In 2007, Mr. Alvarez decided to return to his love for film and enrolled into Los Angeles City College’s cinema program. In his second month of film school he was awarded an opportunity to travel across seas and direct “Friends and Famiglia” a cross-culture world documentary in London and Italy.
In a short matter of time he became apparent standout in film school. Working on variety of projects throughout his student career, he hired several of his fellow film students, sharing in his opportunities along the way. In 2009, he joined forces with director, Sergio Guerrero of Indie-Eye productions. His meticulous attention to fine detail and outstanding efficiency has led him to be a top producer and casting director in today's commercial market for a list of clients, which include: Kraft, Master Card, Verizon, Ford, Got Milk, UFC, 5 Hour Energy, Colgate, Pizza Hut, Carl’s Jr. and many others.
Along with director, Sergio Guerrero he is the co-founder of My Production Workshop. His humble demeanor, optimistic attitude and ambitious personality make him an inspiration to work with and learn from. This up and coming talent strives to create opportunities in helping others to realize their potential.
